FuelFeed is run by Róbert Nikulásson (Lucency), Iceland. Contact: support@lucency.dev.

This page says what FuelFeed stores about you, who can see it, and which services help run the site.

What we store

When you sign in with Google or GitHub, we keep your name, your email address, your profile picture if you have one, and your account id at Google or GitHub. We also make you a handle, the short name in your profile address. Google and GitHub do the signing in, so we never see your password.

We also keep what you do on FuelFeed:

  • Launches, with their logos and screenshots.
  • Comments and upvotes.
  • Feedback tasks: the ones you were shown, the time you opened a product for a task, your answers, the ratings and notes makers add to them, and your “Were you close?” taps.
  • Your fuel history: each time fuel was earned, spent, bought, or taken back.
  • What you bought: the product, the price, and the Polar order number.
  • Founding maker codes you redeemed, and when.

Who sees what

  • Launches, comments, and profile pages are public. A profile shows your name, picture, launches, and the Founding maker badge if you have it. Search engines and AI tools can read public pages.
  • A launch is private to its maker until it goes live.
  • Answers to feedback tasks and “Were you close?” taps are visible only to the person who gave them and the launch's maker. The public sees only totals, such as how many fixes a maker shipped from feedback.
  • Email addresses are never shown publicly.

We can read everything in our database. We look only to investigate abuse, fix a problem, or answer a legal request.

The badge check

If you launch for free, we fetch the public page you give us to look for the FuelFeed badge link: when you check it, and once a day while your launch is on the boards. We fetch only that page, and any page it redirects to (up to three times), over https. We keep only the address you gave us and the result.

Notices

When a maker marks your feedback as shipped, we show you a notice on FuelFeed until you close it. We send no email for it.

Cookies

The only cookies FuelFeed sets are the ones that sign you in and keep you signed in. We use no tracking or advertising cookies.

Stats

We count impressions (a launch shown in a list), page views, and clicks on the Visit website button, so makers can see how their launch is doing. We also count visitors to the site, for our public open stats page. A visitor counts once a day for each launch they view or click, and once a day for the whole site.

We don't set any cookies for this. To tell a repeat visit from a new one, we store a scrambled code made from your connection, your browser, the date, and a secret key only we hold. Without that key, it can't be turned back into your IP address, and all of these codes are deleted every day. The counts we keep don't identify anyone.

Bots that identify themselves aren't counted. Our own admin and test accounts are left out of the visitor count. AI crawlers, such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity, are recorded separately: we keep which crawler visited which launch page, and when.

AI bot requests on launch pages, llms.txt, and the public API are counted per day by bot company and kind. Kind means crawling, or a live fetch for a person using an AI tool. If you arrive from ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or Gemini, we count that visit once a day by assistant name. We don't store where else you came from.

Services we use

These companies handle data for us:

  • Neon runs our database, in the United States (AWS US East).
  • Vercel hosts the site and stores the logos and screenshots makers upload. As our host, it sees each request to the site, including your IP address.
  • Google and GitHub sign you in. Your profile picture is loaded from them when someone views your public profile.
  • Polar handles payments for launch tiers, fuel packs, and featured weeks. It is the merchant of record: it takes your payment and handles sales tax, and we never see your card. We send Polar your email address and your FuelFeed account id so a payment can be matched to your account.

Your rights

Email support@lucency.dev to get a copy of your data, fix it, or delete your account and everything you posted. We answer within a month.

Records of payments can stay after you delete your account, because tax and accounting rules can require us to keep them.

If you are in Iceland or the EEA, you can also complain to Persónuvernd, the Icelandic Data Protection Authority.
